{"id":1073196,"date":"2026-10-30T17:23:08","date_gmt":"2026-10-30T17:23:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ufp.pt\/?p=1073196"},"modified":"2026-10-30T17:23:31","modified_gmt":"2026-10-30T17:23:31","slug":"ufp-and-ess-fp-mark-the-global-week-of-media-and-informational-literacy-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ufp.pt\/en\/ufp-e-ess-fp-assinalam-semana-global-da-literacia-mediatica-e-informacional-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"UFP and ESS-FP mark the 2026 Global Week of Media and Information Literacy with 25 activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"1073196\" class=\"elementor elementor-1073196\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f951223 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"f951223\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-34e396d6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"34e396d6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Fernando Pessoa University (UFP) and the Fernando Pessoa Higher School of Health (ESS-FP) joined the Global Week of Media and Information Literacy 2026, promoted by UNESCO, on October 26-30, with a multidisciplinary program dedicated to the development of critical thinking and the conscious and responsible use of information.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under the motto \u00abWe all have a role\u00bb, the initiative brought together the academic community and students from the 3rd cycle of basic education and secondary education, promoting reflection on the challenges of information in contemporary society.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over five days, 25 activities were held across five literacy areas: financial literacy, media literacy, digital literacy, for citizenship, and health literacy. The program included conferences, workshops, webinars, podcasts, videocasts, and practical activities, addressing topics such as misinformation, artificial intelligence, digital security, citizenship, and health.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative involved 163 participants, including 22 university teachers, 21 university students, 107 primary and secondary school students, nine institutional representatives and four technicians.
