concebido para responder a tr\u00eas prop\u00f3sitos essenciais:<br \/><strong>\u2022<\/strong> um prop\u00f3sito pedag\u00f3gico (permitir aos alunos dos v\u00e1rios cursos de sa\u00fade uma aprendizagem em situa\u00e7\u00e3o real);<br \/><strong>\u2022 <\/strong>um prop\u00f3sito c\u00edvico (possibilita aos alunos o desenvolvimento da consci\u00eancia solid\u00e1ria pelo contacto com graves car\u00eancias higi\u00e9nicas e de sa\u00fade individual e p\u00fablica, al\u00e9m de econ\u00f3micas);<br \/><strong>\u2022 <\/strong>um prop\u00f3sito social (pela sensibiliza\u00e7\u00e3o das pessoas para a responsabilidade de investirem em sa\u00fade, para n\u00e3o terem de gastar tanto com a doen\u00e7a).<\/p><p>A sua atividade come\u00e7ou, em 2002\/03,\u00a0com uma unidade m\u00f3vel, a circular pelo pa\u00eds, para realiza\u00e7\u00e3o gratuita de rastreios em Medicina Dent\u00e1ria, An\u00e1lises Cl\u00ednicas, Ci\u00eancias da Nutri\u00e7\u00e3o e Terap\u00eautica da Ambiente e Sa\u00fade (PAAS) foi criado com o objetivo de ajudar a implementar, na Universidade Fernando Pessoa (UFP), um sistema de ensino-aprendizagem da Engenharia do Ambiente, baseado na experi\u00eancia real (\u201caprender fazendo\u201d), procurando em simult\u00e2neo que as atividades dos alunos tenham reflexo na sociedade e que possam os mesmos perceber algum resultado do seu processo de aprendizagem no mundo real.<\/p><p>Seguindo este paradigma, t\u00eam-se desenvolvido trabalhos como: cria\u00e7\u00e3o de um Atlas Ambiental e Epidemiol\u00f3gico para o concelho de Ponte de Lima, monitoriza\u00e7\u00e3o da qualidade da \u00e1gua para consumo humano e\/ou de espa\u00e7os p\u00fablicos em diversas freguesias dos concelhos de Ponte de Lima, Vila do Conde e Porto e avalia\u00e7\u00e3o do estado ecol\u00f3gico do estu\u00e1rio do Ave.<\/p><p>No \u00e2mbito do protocolo\u00a0 de coopera\u00e7\u00e3o entre a UFP, a LIPOR, a Ag\u00eancia Portuguesa do Ambiente, as
