The Master's program in Criminology aims to equip students with the ability, within a multidisciplinary context, to seek concrete solutions for the different facets of crime and criminality, whether from the perspective of prevention, intervention and rehabilitation, or through the lens of scientific research. The complementary articulation with criminal investigations guaranteed by law enforcement becomes a valuable asset of this scientific field. Bridging the gap between theoretical rationale and practice is something we strive to achieve with students in the Master's program in Criminology. Added to these challenges are concerns about empowering our students regarding ethical and deontological implications, along with attention to the social component, which is extremely relevant in the field of crime, criminal behavior, and the victim.

• To deepen mechanisms for the continuous updating of responses to new forms of crime;
• Plan/Implement criminological assessment programs at the local/community and national levels;
• To understand criminal reality by integrating theoretical knowledge into the writing/issuing of criminological reports;
• Develop/Actively participate in crime prevention programs (primary, secondary or tertiary) in conjunction with judicial organizations;
• Develop/Participate in projects that integrate inter/multidisciplinary teams;
• To provide concrete answers and point out possible solutions, in terms of future criminal policies;
• To plan/conduct scientific research in the field of Criminology, contributing to the advancement of this domain;
• To make decisions ethically, thoughtfully, and autonomously in their professional field.

Therefore, the training acquired will allow the student, on the one hand, to reinforce the practical implications of the theoretical knowledge acquired, which will favor a greater possibility of opening up professional opportunities associated with Criminology, enabling the student, in particular, to work in criminal police bodies, in the prison system, in social reintegration services, in child and youth protection centers, in educational centers for juvenile delinquents and in shelters and protection centers for victims, not forgetting local authorities – such as Municipal Councils and their respective police and civil protection, as well as Parish Councils. On the other hand, the student will also be able to work at the local community level, as well as at the national level, with judicial organizations.
