The Master's program in Educational Sciences: Inclusive Education lasts two academic years and is organized into 4 semesters, providing a balanced approach between knowledge and practice aimed at promoting the acquisition/deepening of knowledge and the development/improvement of skills in the field of Educational Sciences, more specifically in the area of special education.
The main objective of this study program is to prepare teachers or other professionals linked to the field of education to work in school clusters or non-clustered schools, and in private or public institutions supporting disadvantaged populations, with skills in critical analysis, intervention, consulting, training, supervision, and evaluation in the field of educational sciences in general and special education in particular.
This course aims to train specialists with theoretical and practical knowledge, whose methodologies and techniques provide a solid foundation for intervention and research in the educational field, focusing on students with special educational needs (SEN) in different domains. In particular, it aims to provide master's students with:
• The acquisition of scientific knowledge and skills that enable the creation of conditions that facilitate the development of children with disabilities or at risk of severe developmental delay, promoting their functionality and participation in various life contexts.
• The ability to enhance family interactions and strengthen family skills to support their progressive empowerment and autonomy in the face of disability.
These objectives are achieved in two areas: Professional and Academic.
NOTE: This course is not a professional qualification and does not confer teaching certification. It is recognized for career progression purposes for teachers in public schools, under Decree No. 322/2008, of April 30.

ERASMUS+ EXCHANGE
Students at the Fernando Pessoa University (UFP) who meet the eligibility criteria have the opportunity to undertake periods of study and/or internships through international mobility programs.
International student study periods are carried out at higher education institutions outside of Portugal with which UFP maintains student exchange agreements under the Erasmus+ Program (within the European area), or other existing bilateral exchange agreements.
