Nota Biográfica:
Dr Rachel F. Giraudo is Associate Professor of Anthropology at California State University, Northridge. Her research interests include indigeneity and identity politics in southern Africa; cultural heritage, tourism, and development; and collaborative, community-based efforts in anthropological research. Her writings appear in the International Journal of Heritage StudiesIndigenous Tourism MovementsWorld Heritage Sites and Tourism: Global and Local Relations, and Routledge Handbook of Global Citizenship Studies. Rachel’s latest project examines cannabis tourism within the political context of cannabis legalization in the United States. She served as a Board Member (and is a Founding Member) of the Anthropology of Tourism Interest Group of the American Anthropological Association (2013–2016) and is a past Associate of the Intellectual Property Issues in Cultural Heritage (IPinCH) project (2011–2016).
