This Privacy Policy is part of the Terms of Use of the website www.ufp.pt, obliging the Fundação Fernando Pessoa to comply with its Privacy Policy in accordance with the obligations of the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016.

Fundação Fernando Pessoa guarantees the protection of personal information of all users, as well as the respect for your privacy, not collecting data about you without your consent.

The use of certain services made available on this site (such as contact form and/or appointment of a visit to the campus) imply the provision by the Users of personal data – name and e-mail, which will be treated in accordance with the principles of security and confidentiality required by the Data Protection Act in force. Failure to provide these personal data may render the provision of these services unfeasible.

Data Collection and Processing
Fundação Fernando Pessoa is the entity responsible for users’ personal data collecting and processing.

Personal data collected will be processed and stored in computers by Fundação Fernando Pessoa and are intended to respond to requests made by Users.

The personal data collected – name, e-mail – will be kept in order to allow the identification only for the period necessary to fulfill the collection purposes (clarification of doubts and/or scheduling and/or sending newsletters/information about University Fernando Pessoa), after which they will be eliminated.

The personal information placed in the message will be used only by the department responsible for the service to be provided and will not be disclosed to third parties for promotional/commercial purposes.

Fundação Fernando Pessoa assumes that the data collected were inserted by its holder and that their insertion was authorized by him/her, and that they are true and accurate.

The Controller of the Data Processing processes the users data in an appropriate manner and takes security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or unauthorized destruction of the data.

Data processing is performed using computers and/or enabled tools, following organizational procedures and means strictly related to the purposes indicated.

Right of access
In compliance with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, the User has at any time the right of access, modification or erasure of his/her personal data, upon written request to Fundação Fernando Pessoa, Praça 9 de Abril, nr. 349, 4249-004, Porto, or, through the following e-mail: dpo@ufp.edu.pt.

Users have the right at any time to:

  • know if their Personal Data has been stored;
  • consult the Controller of the Data Processing to know more about the content, origin and accuracy of their Personal Data;
  • request to update, rectify or erase their Personal Data;
  • request that their Personal Data be kept anonymous;
  • restrict any data stored in violation of the law;
  • oppose the processing of their Personal Data for any legitimate reasons.

Communication of Data
Fundação Fernando Pessoa may communicate your personal data to third parties provided that, to that end, it has unequivocally obtained the consent of the Users or also when the transmission is made in compliance with a legal obligation, a resolution of the Portuguese Data Protection Commission or a court order; or the communication is carried out to protect the vital interests of the Users or any other legitimate purpose provided by law.

Changes to the Privacy Policy
The Data Processing Controller has the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time by communicating them immediately to its users on this page. It is highly recommended that this page is consulted frequently and if the User does’t agree with any of the changes, he/she must stop using this page and, if he/she wishes, ask the Data Processing Controller to delete his/her Personal Data. Unless stated otherwise, the current Privacy Policy applies to all users’ Personal Data held by the Data Processing Controller.
