A 2ª Edição de 2024, dedicado às “Relações Internacionais”, o Congresso debruçar-se-á sobre a “Diplomacia Económica” decorrente do atual contexto nacional e internacional que nos coloca frente a potencialidades e, simultaneamente fragilidades, que envolvem o comércio internacional de produtos e serviços, a atração do Investimento Direito Estrangeiro e o acesso aos modelos internacionais de financiamento.
Atentes na importância da Diplomacia económica, analisada sob a perspetiva da evolução do “investimento direto do exterior em Portugal”, que no ano de 2023 ascendeu a 180 411,22 M€, ou no facto de no ano de 2023 o “saldo da balança comercial em Portugal” ter tido um saldo positivo de 3 275,9 M€.
Considerando o enquadramento internacional, caraterizado pela interdependência das economias, a globalização do mercado e consequentemente da concorrência, se a internacionalização é inevitável, impera a necessidade inequívoca de debater o papel basilar da Diplomacia Económica, na sua ação interestatal com especial relevância nas repercussões para as empresas e a sua competitividade num mercado alargado, promovendo proveitos na cadeia de valor dos produtos e serviços.
Áreas Científicas: A temática em discussão abrange todas as áreas do saber, contudo dedica-se, por excelência, às áreas das:
Ciência Política;
Relações Internacionais;
Diplomacia Económica;
Economia Política;Políticas Públicas;
Direito: Português, Europeu e Internacional;

The International Congress of Political Science and International Relations of Fernando Pessoa University will take place annually. Each Congresses will be alternatively dedicated to “Political Science” or to “International Relations”.
The International Congress of Political Science and International Relations at Fernando Pessoa University will be held annually. Each of the congresses will alternatively be dedicated to “Political Science” or “International Relations”.
The 2nd edition in 2024, dedicated to “International Relations”, will focus on “Economic Diplomacy” because of the current national and international context that presents us with potential and, at the same time, weaknesses, involving international trade in products and services, the attraction of Foreign Direct Investment and access to international financing models.
Consider the importance of economic diplomacy, analysed from the perspective of the evolution of “foreign direct investment in Portugal”, which in 2023 amounted to 180,411.22 M€, or the fact that in 2023 the “balance of trade in Portugal” had a positive balance of 3,275.9 M€.
Considering the international environment, characterized by the interdependence of economies, the globalization of the market and consequently of competition, if internationalization is inevitable, there is an unequivocal need to debate the basic role of Economic Diplomacy, in its inter-state action with special relevance to the repercussions for companies and their competitiveness in a wider market, promoting profits in the value chain of products and services.
