Between the 13th and 17th of April, Fernando Pessoa University will host Professor Arpad Gellert from Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu (ULBS) on an Erasmus mission. As part of this visit, a workshop entitled "AI Forecasting Methods for Energy Management Systems" will take place on the 17th of April.

In the context of urban development, smart cities leverage technology and data-driven solutions to address various challenges and enhance the quality of life for their residents. Integrating the concept of a smart building with the vision of a smart factory and smart grid technologies within smart city initiatives brings several tangible benefits. Firstly, it promotes energy efficiency by optimising consumption and reducing waste through real-time monitoring, energy analytics, and demand-side management strategies. Secondly, smart grids contribute to urban sustainability goals by enabling the integration of renewable energy sources and supporting clean transportation options, such as electric vehicles. Therefore, the aim of this seminar will be to present some recent research carried out at the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu (ULBS) on forecasting methods developed for energy management systems.

The event, which will take place in the Noble Hall, is for Computer Engineering students at Fernando Pessoa University and entry will be free, with mandatory registration.
