Autonomous Units
Fernando Pessoa University permits the attendance of standalone curricular units, under the terms of Article 46-A of Decree-Law no. 74/2006, by students enrolled in higher education and by other interested parties who meet the applicable conditions.
For the 2026/2027 academic year, the programme offering, available places and application criteria are set out in Order RT No. 43/2026 and the corresponding Call for Applications.
Who can apply?
Applications are open to students enrolled on higher education programmes and other interested parties who meet the entry requirements for the course module in question.
Admission is subject to the availability of places and to candidates meeting the academic requirements and, where applicable, laboratory, clinical, language, safety or biosafety requirements.
Registration can be carried out under a scheme subject to assessment or not subject to assessment. Under the scheme subject to assessment, the cumulative limit of 60 ECTS, taking into account enrolments made under this scheme at any higher education institution.
Offers and vacancies
The courses on offer and the maximum number of candidates admitted to each study programme are set out in the Annex I to Dispatch RT No. 43/2026.
Whether each course module is actually offered depends on its smooth running and on the availability of the necessary academic, teaching, laboratory, clinical and material resources.
Applications 2026/2027
The application is submitted via the Student Info, and candidates must indicate the modules they wish to take and submit the necessary documentation to verify that they meet the entry requirements.

Applications close at 23:59 on 22 September 2026.
How is the ranking carried out?
Where the number of candidates meeting the entry requirements exceeds the number of places available, candidates are ranked by in chronological order according to the date and time at which the application became valid and complete, as recorded in the academic information system.
Candidates who meet the admission requirements, but do not obtain a place, are placed on the reserve list.
Attendance of curricular units
Attendance takes place at the times, in the classes or in the groups specified for the normal running of the course module.
Enrolment in stand-alone modules does not guarantee that timetables will be compatible and does not oblige the UFP to create additional classes, groups or timetables.
Attendance at stand-alone modules does not constitute enrolment on a course of study and does not confer any right or priority regarding access to or admission to that course.
Course modules attended on an assessed basis and successfully completed shall be awarded credits, in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, provided that the student in question is, or subsequently becomes, a student on a higher education programme.
Students who attended curricular units in previous years
Students who, in previous academic years, have attended curricular units at UFP previously designated as stand-alone or extracurricular and whose enrolment for 2026/2027 has been previously authorised do not need to submit an application through this procedure, provided they do not exceed the accumulated limit of 60 ECTS.
These inscriptions are not counted towards the vacancies set by Rector's Dispatch No 43/2026 nor are they subject to the ranking of new applications.
2nd semester curriculum units
An... could be opened 2nd round of applications, exclusively for 2nd semester curricular units, provided that vacancies remain and available capacity exists.
The potential opening of this phase, the course units covered, the number of places and the respective schedule will be published via notice to oneself, predictably in January 2027.
