At UFP, we attach great importance to physical and sporting activities, whose contribution we know is fundamental to health and well-being. In this sense, we have a Health and Leisure Academy and encourage University Sports, which are promoted by the Student Association.

Academic and cultural activities also play a fundamental role, creating value and fostering lasting bonds after graduation. The Student Association, Student Groups, and Tunas (traditional student music groups) are examples of this, demonstrating the university's dynamism.

HEALTH AND LEISURE ACADEMY

The Health and Leisure Academy is a space dedicated to physical exercise, intended for members and family of the Pessoa academic community (students and staff), alumni of the University, users of the UFP teaching clinics, and other interested parties.

It features a modern and elegant structure that includes a gym equipped with the latest models of weight training machines and accessories, as well as an indoor swimming pool.

ACADEMIC ASSOCIATION

The Academic Association of Fernando Pessoa (AAFP) has as its main objective to defend the rights of students, provide services and organize academic activities that improve their experience at the institution.

Within the AAFP (Association of Students of Fernando Pessoa), there are Student Groups. Composed of students from each of the courses, the groups represent Fernando Pessoa in national student associations in their field of study and promote activities of particular interest within the scope of the course.

AAFP also collaborates with institutions and develops partnerships to encourage and involve students in social volunteering initiatives. An example of this is the partnership with the NGO "Mundo a Sorrir," which led to the creation of the "Fernando Pessoa International Volunteering" scholarship and has already provided an international volunteering experience for Dentistry students in São Tomé and Príncipe.

Academic Tuna

The Tuna Académica of the Fernando Pessoa University, from the old, ever-loyal and very noble city of Porto, was founded on October 12, 1994, and has since counted on many faithful members of the bohemian, musical and enviable academic spirit.

With clear objectives, always in line with traditional and/or popular Portuguese music, this tuna group has managed to surpass some of its past dreams, attracting attention thanks to its joviality, joy, camaraderie... and so many other qualities that are a permanent way of being and existing for this group.

FEMALE TUNA

The Tuna Feminina da Pessoa succeeds the Tuna Feminina da Universidade Fernando Pessoa, which was created in 1992.

The Tuna Feminina da Pessoa was founded on November 30, 2016. It was born from the dream and desire to (re)create a female Tuna group at the Fernando Pessoa University. A group of courageous friends, with an academic and bohemian spirit, decided to found this Tuna group, overcoming all obstacles.

With the Academic Tuna of the Fernando Pessoa University as its godparents, the Female Tuna of Pessoa boasts a charm and romanticism that would make many envious!
