The Bachelor's Degree in Criminology is a course accredited by the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education, structured in 6 academic semesters and awarding 180 ECTS credits.

The aim of this course is to train professionals capable of understanding, analyzing, and intervening in the various phenomena related to crime and deviance. This course offers knowledge about the transition to criminal activity, the characteristics of criminal occurrences and their contextualization, criminal behavior, its consequences, particularly for victims, and crime prevention strategies. It also aims to prepare students to work in diverse contexts, namely in institutions that control and combat crime, particularly through prevention, rehabilitation services, and law enforcement agencies, equipping them with the necessary skills to address the challenges of contemporary society in the field of Criminology.

Regime mostly online; it being necessary Attend five percent of the sessions in person. (including the presentation and defense of the final project), and the mandatory in-person classes are those corresponding to the assessment week indicated at the end of each semester in the academic schedule.

The objectives of the study cycle are adapted to distance learning through directed and remotely developed teaching activities, using teaching-learning methodologies that include the use of technological tools: Colibri Zoom, for synchronous contact with the teacher; and the Canvas Educational Platform. Through these tools, teachers offer students a significant variety of resources and activities that empower students to autonomously achieve their professional goals.
Classes are taught after working hours (starting at 6:00 PM).

If you choose this course, you will be able to work not only in criminal investigation, but also in consulting and developing criminal policy programs, victim support programs, prevention and reintegration programs for offenders, and prison programs; supporting security forces, courts, and private security companies; training, teaching, and research. Criminologists can develop their professional activity in institutional contexts such as: security forces (PJ, PSP, GNR); Ministry of National Defence; Immigration and Borders Service; Courts of Justice; Directorate-General for Reintegration and Prison Services; educational centers; municipalities; educational institutions; research centers; victim support institutions; mediation offices; law firms; private security services; and also as independent professionals.
