The Fernando Pessoa University (UFP) is promoting the second edition of the Postgraduate Program in Human Rights in the Digital Era, a research program that aims to deepen knowledge and stimulate scientific reflection on the challenges posed by digital transformation to the protection and promotion of Human Rights.
In a context of growing digitalization of society, this program opens new possibilities for research on the implications of digital technologies on fundamental rights, encouraging multidisciplinary approaches guided by the principles of Dignity, Fraternity, Equality, Freedom and Justice.
With a duration of 12 months, the postdoctoral program is intended for holders of a PhD degree from all scientific fields, providing the opportunity to develop an integrated research project within the lines and strategies of research at UFP.
The program will begin with an Opening Week, from January 11 to 15, 2027, which will include seminars led by invited experts on topics related to Human Rights in the Digital Age. During this period, candidates will define their research topics and identify their supervisors and potential co-supervisors.
Throughout the program, the research work can be carried out remotely, with scientific supervision through online meetings, without the researchers needing to be present regularly at the University's facilities.
The completion of the postdoctoral degree is scheduled for the week of January 10 to 14, 2028, a period during which the researchers will present and defend their work in person before a jury formed for this purpose.
The scientific coordination of this edition is in the hands of Professor Dr Ana Campina and Professor Dr. Carlos Rodrigues.
