Fernando Pessoa actively associated himself with the national initiative “7 Days with the Media”, promoted by GILM – Informal Group on Media Literacy. In this edition, FP not only promoted a diverse range of activities for students from the 1st cycle to secondary school but also played a central role in the structure of the event: the university was an official partner of the Operation, Lab TV acted as a school media partner, and the RTP advertising spot promoting the initiative was produced by Ana Azevedo, a 2nd-year student on the Communication Sciences degree.
The programme kicked off on 4th May with the webinar “Cybersecurity: not a warning, but a sharing”, led by Luís Borges Gouveia, which focused on raising awareness of the risks and best practices in the digital ecosystem. Two days of immersion in the university's radio and television studios followed: Ana Santos led the workshops “Journalist Heroes” and “Journalists and Influencers Online”, while Ana Gabriela Nogueira and Patrícia Weber guided the sessions “Come and build a story with your voice” and “Discover how to make a radio programme”.
The second half of the week was marked by the sharing of specialised content. On the 7th, the videocast “Social Media and Violence in Sport: Motivations, Influences and Possibilities” was launched, coordinated by Daniel Seabra (available on YouTube), and on the 8th, the podcast “Listen to me! – Giving voice to children: participating, informing, and deciding”, developed by Ana Costa and Ana Cátia Ferreira (available on SpotifyThe week concluded with the video podcast “Human Rights and Inclusion Online”, hosted by Luís Santos (available on YouTube).
