VII Conference on Political Science and International Relations 2026

The VII edition of the Political Science and International Relations Conference 2026 took place on the 13th and 14th of May, bringing together a wide range of personalities from the fields of politics, diplomacy, journalism, local government, academia, and international relations, where debate was fostered around some of the main contemporary political challenges, both national and international.

Over the two days of work, the event featured conferences and round tables dedicated to topics such as the future of the European project, youth political participation, local power, Portuguese representation in the European Parliament, constitutional review, and current international geopolitical challenges.

The plural and inter-institutional dimension of the event also stands out, as it sought to bring together students, lecturers, experts and policymakers, encouraging critical thinking, democratic debate and academic reflection on the main current political issues.

The VII Political Science and International Relations Conference thus establishes itself as a benchmark initiative within the Fernando Pessoa academic context, reinforcing the Students' Union’s commitment to the promotion of scientific, civic, and educational activities aimed at the entire academic community.
