UFP offers 17 full scholarships within the scope of Porto of Knowledge

In 2026, the Fernando Pessoa University will once again be part of the "Porto de Conhecimento" programme, an initiative by the Porto Municipality designed to support young people in situations of economic vulnerability in accessing higher education.

For the 2026/2027 academic year, UFP is offering 17 scholarships, distributed across undergraduate, integrated master's, and master's degree courses. The scholarships provide full exemption from tuition fees, as well as various fees and charges associated with the academic journey.

BAGS AVAILABLE

Bachelor's degrees

A scholarship is available for each of the following courses:

  • Political Science and International Relations;
  • Communications Science;
  • Business Studies;
  • Criminology;
  • Criminology – Distance Learning;
  • Computer Engineering;
  • Psychology.


Integrated Master's Degree

Architecture – a scholarship.

Master's degrees

A scholarship is available for each of the following courses:

  • Humanitarian Action;
  • Humanitarian Action, Cooperation and Development – Distance Learning;
  • Communications Science;
  • Educational Sciences: Inclusive Education;
  • Criminology;
  • Criminology – Distance Learning;
  • Computer Engineering;
  • Clinical and Health Psychology;
  • Psychology of Justice: Victims of Violence and Crime.


What's included

The scholarships cover full exemption from payment of:

  • Course attendance bonuses.;
  • Application, enrolment and registration fees;
  • Examination entry fees;
  • Fees relating to the issuance of the annual certificate of academic achievement and the degree completion certificate.

Who can apply?

Students who meet the entry requirements for the chosen course, are beneficiaries of support within the scope of school social action, or have an equivalent economic and financial situation, may apply.

Candidates must also reside in the city of Porto or have obtained higher education qualifications from an educational institution in the city.

 

APPLICATIONS UNTIL 16 AUGUST

Applications are open until 16 August 2026 and should be sent to educacao@cm-porto.pt, using the application form provided by the Porto City Council, accompanied by the indicated documentation.

The results will be communicated to candidates by 31 August 2026.
