UFP Doctor Talks brings together former PhD students and retells the history of the Doctorate in Communication Sciences

The Fernando Pessoa University (UFP) will hold the “UFP Doctor Talks” on October 20 at 15:00, an initiative integrated into the Alumni Talks format that aims to value the paths of former doctoral students linked to the field of Communication Sciences and to reflect on the role of the University in the development of their academic, professional and personal trajectories.

The launch of the video will take place entirely online, through the YouTube channel of the Television Laboratory of Fernando Pessoa University And it will consist of the presentation of a short pre-recorded documentary that brings together the testimonies of the guests. Among the participants are the founder of the Doctorate and President of the Fernando Pessoa Foundation, Professor Doutor Salvato Trigo, the current coordinator Renato Essenfelder, the former coordinator Jorge Pedro Sousa, as well as the students Leonel Ribeiro, Marco Gehlen, Miguel Gonçalves and Sandra Nodari. In the video, the students share their experiences and perspectives on the Universidade Fernando Pessoa and the contribution of academic training to their careers.

The initiative also holds special significance for the history and development of the Communication Sciences course, bringing together different protagonists from its institutional trajectory. The professors present the different moments of the construction and continuity of this academic project. Through the testimonies presented, the “UFP Doctor Talks” aims to showcase experiences that highlight the relationship between university education, research, and professional development, showing how the time spent at UFP has contributed to opening paths, consolidating skills, and creating new opportunities.

More than a sharing of memories, this initiative seeks to bring generations of students, faculty members, researchers, and former students together, promoting the recognition of the institution’s trajectory and strengthening ties with its Alumni community. Open to all interested parties, with a special focus on the Pessoana community, the event is an opportunity to learn about inspiring paths related to the Sciences of Communication and to reflect on the influence of university experience in the construction of careers and life projects.
