The Master's Degree in Biomedicine, developed in partnership between the Fernando Pessoa University (UFP) and the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), promotes a series of seminars dedicated to research in the field of biomedicine.
The first seminar takes place on the day October 2, at 14:00, online format, with the participation of Priscila Mendes, Assistant Professor at the Higher School of Health of Lisbon — Polytechnic University of Lisbon, under the title «From Mechanisms to Therapy: Translational Research in Inflammatory Intestinal Diseases».
The session will address inflammatory bowel diseases as a model of translational research, exploring their molecular complexity and the role of epigenetic mechanisms in the regulation of inflammation. The animal models of colitis will also be discussed, as well as their contribution to the study of the disease and the evaluation of new therapeutic strategies, including the repositioning of drugs.
Priscila Mendes is a member of the Coordinating Committee of the Health & Technology Research Center (H&TRC) and a contributing member of the Research Institute for Medicines (iMed.ULisboa).
Participation is free, through the Google Meet. The issuance of a participation certificate has a cost of 5 €, It must be requested through the address comunicacao@fundacaofernandopessoa.pt.
