As part of the Curricular Unit of Emergency and Disaster Medicine, the students of the Integrated Master's Degree in Medicine from the School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of Fernando Pessoa University carried out a field visit to the Santa Maria da Feira Fire Station, where they had the opportunity to learn about and observe various equipment and means used in responding to multi-victim scenarios and disaster situations.
The experience allowed students to get closer to a real emergency context, providing direct contact with the resources and procedures involved in responding to complex situations, and contributing to a more integrated understanding of the actions of the different professionals and entities involved.
The School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of Fernando Pessoa University thanks the firefighters of Santa Maria da Feira for their availability and contribution to this training experience.
