Within the framework of the Master's Degree in Justice Psychology: Victims of Violence and Crime, and of the Curricular Unit of Psychology of Witness Testimony, an open class was held dedicated to the Special Testimony of children and adolescents, conducted by Prof. Rosana Carneiro Tavares – visiting professor at UFP, psychologist, doctor and master's degree holder in psychology from PUC Goiás and specialist in mental health.
The session, which took place on October 1, 2026, provided an important space for reflection and scientific and professional sharing on the relevance of the special testimony in the protection of children and adolescents, the challenges associated with taking statements from vulnerable witnesses, and the practices and techniques appropriate for conducting them.
The richness of the exchange between Brazil and Portugal was also highlighted, allowing for the sharing of experiences, knowledge, and different perspectives on intervention with children and adolescents in the context of the justice system.
The Fernando Pessoa University thanks Prof. Rosana Carneiro Tavares for her availability, the shared knowledge and the contribution to the training of our students.
