The scientific article “Deprescribing: Reducing Harm, Enhancing Care”, authored by Carla Matos and Cindy Pinheiro – a lecturer and a former student at UFP, respectively – was recently highlighted in a report by the international newspaper *The Jerusalem Post*. The investigation warns of the dangers associated with polypharmacy (the simultaneous use of multiple medications), underlining the importance of clinical “deprescribing” as a vital public health intervention, with a special focus on protecting and improving the quality of life for the growing elderly population.
