On the 9th of October, the Fernando Pessoa University will hold another session of the Seminars in Biomedicine, dedicated to the topic “Beyond Genetics: Epigenetic Modulation as a Therapeutic Approach to Sickle Cell Disease”.
The session will be facilitated by Edna Ribeiro, MSc., PhD, researcher at the Health & Technology Research Center (H&TRC), of the Higher School of Health of Lisbon of the Polytechnic University of Lisbon.
The seminar will address the potential of epigenetic modulation as a therapeutic strategy in sickle cell disease, exploring new perspectives that go beyond the genetic alterations associated with the disease and highlighting the contribution of research in this area to the development of new therapeutic approaches.
The initiative integrates the Seminars in Biomedicine, promoting the sharing of scientific knowledge and the contact of the academic community with current topics in biomedical research.
