On the 6th and 7th of March, the Fernando Pessoa University student Tomás Couto Ribeiro, a 2nd-year student on the Degree in Political Science and International Relations, was in attendance at NERIMUN 2026.
The NERIMUN consisted of an academic simulation of the United Nations, organised by the International Relations Student Nucleus of the University of Porto.
In this same simulation, students from various universities take on the role of diplomats and represent different countries. The objective is for them, during the sessions, to deliver formal speeches, participate in moderated and informal debates, negotiate and establish alliances, and contribute to the drafting and approval of resolutions. In terms of operation, this simulation follows rules similar to those of the UN, creating a structured, dynamic environment that is very close to diplomatic reality.
The activity contributed, in this way, to the student Tomás Couto Ribeiro being able to deepen and broaden his knowledge in the area he is studying.
The Fernando Pessoa shows great satisfaction regarding this student's participation in NERIMUN 2026.
