On April 8th, from 5:30 PM to 6:45 PM, an online open lecture will be held with Dr. Rui Paulo Santos – Judge of the General Jurisdiction Court of Monção, Viana do Castelo District, entitled “Framework and organization of the judicial system in Portugal according to Law No. 62/2013, of August 26 – LOSJ”.
Aimed at students in the 1st and 2nd cycles of Criminology studies, this activity takes place within the scope of the curricular unit Judicial and Police Organization and Intervention Models, taught by Professor Debora Simões Pereira. Its objectives are to provide students, through practical and empirical knowledge, with a deeper understanding of the functioning of the courts in Portugal, as well as the impact of Law No. 62/2013 in this area.
Dr. Rui Paulo Santos' participation in the open lecture will help students understand the impact of Law No. 62/2013 on the Portuguese judicial organization, particularly on the structure of the judicial system and the proper functioning of its bodies, with a view to protecting rights and guaranteeing legal certainty in the State.
