The School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (EMCB) at Fernando Pessoa University, in conjunction with the Medical Students“ Nucleus, organised the session ”Health in Action: Volunteering and Social Impact", an initiative dedicated to reflecting on the contribution of civil society organisations in the area of health and social impact.
The session took place on 14 May, online, bringing together various institutions with relevant involvement in volunteering and social support, namely the AMI Foundation, Operation Red Nose, Compassio, Afetos com Letras and V.O.U. Throughout the session, a space for sharing and dialogue was promoted, in which each institution presented its mission, key projects developed, and ways for students and volunteers to get involved.
The initiative also included a moment of interaction with the students, who had the opportunity to ask questions and clarify doubts directly with the representatives of the organisations. The EMCB and the Medical Students' Nucleus thank all the institutions involved for their availability and participation, highlighting the added value of these initiatives in the academic and personal development of the students.
