Nutrition Science Student Receives Honourable Mention for Best Oral Presentation at the XXV Congress of Nutrition and Food 

Bárbara Martins, a fourth-year student on the Nutrition Sciences degree, won an honourable mention for Best Oral Presentation in the Clinical Nutrition category at the XXV Congress of Nutrition and Food, held at Alfândega do Porto.

The student presented the topic “Association of Fat Mass Assessed by Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry with Handgrip Strength – Results from the NutriFunction Project”, under the supervision and co-supervision of professors Joana Mendes and Ana Sofia Sousa. Lecturers Rita Guerra and Cláudia Silva are also co-authors of the work, which is the result of a partnership between Fernando Pessoa University (UFP) and the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences of the University of Porto (FCNAUP).
