On October 14th, the Fernando Pessoa University (UFP) hosted the Cap Ceremony, promoted by the Dental Medicine Nucleus of the UFP Academic Association (NMD-AA-UFP), a symbolic moment that marks an important stage in the academic journey of the students of the Integrated Master's Degree in Dental Medicine.
The ceremony was attended by the Director of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Professor Dr. Sandra Gavinha, and the Coordinator of the Integrated Master's Degree in Dental Medicine, Professor Dr. Patrícia Manarte, as well as by the students' families and friends, who joined in the celebration of this academic milestone.
The initiation to clinical practices represents a crucial phase in the training of future dental doctors, marking the transition from laboratory learning and practice in a simulated environment to direct contact with patients in a clinical context.
More than an academic tradition, the Cap Ceremony symbolizes the responsibility, ethics, and professional commitment inherent in the practice of Dental Medicine, reinforcing the importance of training based on scientific knowledge, technical competence, and the human dimension of care.
The initiative thus constituted a moment of celebration and recognition of the path taken by the students, marking the beginning of a new stage in their academic and professional training.
