As part of the module “Foundations of Medical Sciences II”, 2nd-year Integrated Master's in Medicine students from FP conducted an educational visit to the Hospital Pharmacy and the Central Pharmacy of Hospital Senhor do Bonfim, part of the Trofa Saúde Group.

The visit, which was accompanied by Professor Rúben Fernandes and Professor Maryna Vovchenko, had the main objective of bringing students closer to the reality of hospital pharmaceutical practice, promoting an understanding of the role of Hospital Pharmacy in patient safety and in the provision of healthcare in a multidisciplinary context. During the visit, it was possible to observe the contribution of hospital pharmacy in the medication cycle, from prescription to administration and monitoring, as well as the importance of pharmaceutical validation in preventing medication errors and promoting the rational use of medicines.
