Observatories
The observatories of Fernando Pessoa University are structures for study, analysis, and monitoring dedicated to areas of relevant scientific and social interest. Through the collection, processing, and dissemination of information, these structures contribute to a better understanding of contemporary phenomena, supporting research, knowledge production, and the formulation of well-founded recommendations.
Promoting synergy between academia, professionals, and society, observatories undertake research, scientific dissemination, training, and awareness-raising activities, reinforcing the commitment of the Fernando Pessoa University to the production of useful and socially relevant knowledge.

ObVD - Observatory of Violence Associated with Sport
The Observatory of Violence Associated with Sport has the mission to study and understand phenomena of violence related to the sporting context, promoting research, data analysis, and the dissemination of scientific knowledge that contributes to the prevention and combating of these forms of violence.

OPVC - Observatory of Permanence, Violence and Crime
The Permanent Observatory on Violence and Crime (OPVC) is a research unit of the Fernando Pessoa University dedicated to the study of violence, crime, victimisation, and security. Its activities focus on the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge that contributes to a better understanding of the social dynamics associated with crime and violence, as well as to the development of prevention and intervention strategies.
The observatory promotes the carrying out of studies, research projects, scientific publications, and outreach initiatives aimed at the academic community, professionals in the field, and society in general. Its areas of interest include, but are not limited to, interpersonal violence, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency, victimisation, urban safety, crime prevention, and security policies.
